How to Use the Subscription Invite System
Would you like a place to keep track of all the email subscriptions you offer and who has subscribed to them? What if you have multiple subscriptions and they each have a different signup form?
Speaker Compass includes a system for recording which email newsletters a contact is subscribed to and which newsletters they've been invited to subscribe to. The Email Subscription Invite System also includes a place to record information about all email subscriptions and a quick-invite feature to send a subscription invite with one-click to any number of contacts.
Speaker Compass doesn't send out automated emails. It is not a email hosting application. But you can send out emails to any number of contacts and record who was sent emails and what they've received.
There are several steps needed to set up the Subscription Invite system.
1) Record the information about the Newsletter Signups in Settings.
2) Create and name an Email Subscription template which invites a contact to subscribe.
3) Link the Email Template to the appropriate Subscription Invite Name in using the Email Subscriptions window accessed from Settings
4) Send a Subscription Invite instantly to any number of contacts.
1) Record the information about the Newsletter Signups in Settings on the Default Settings tab.

Record an internal Subscription Title and enter the signup form URL. It will be easy to copy this stored URL into the Email Invite you'll save in in the Email Templates window.

2) Create and name an Email Subscription template which invites a contact to subscribe.
Click the Edit Email button to open the Edit Email Templates window.

This window is for creating any reusable email templates.
Write an Newsletter Subscription Invitation and save it with a unique name in the Title field, and a description which is for your own use.
The Subject and Body will be used when the email is sent. You could copy the URL from the SignUp URL (from the Settings screen) to paste into the Email Invitation. This email template can be saved and reused.
3) Link the Email Template to the appropriate Subscription Invite Name in using the Email Subscriptions window accessed from Settings.
Click the blue arrow beside the Subscription Title you want to link to an Email Invitation to open the Email Subscriptions window.

The Email Subscriptions window is used to link an Email Template to a Subscription Title. Use this screen to record all the information you need to access and edit an online form.

The Subscription URL points to the online signup form.
The Form Creation Service URL is where you would log in to create and edit your online forms. If you'd like a bulk email host and form creation service, then check out Sender. They have a free tier of up to 2500 contacts.
This window also conveniently has fields for storing your username and password (unsecured.)
To link a Subscription Title to an Email Template, click into the Email Template Name field and select the correct Email Template from the drop-down selector.

4) Send a Subscription Invite instantly to any number of contacts from the Subscriptions portal on the Contacts Screen.

The Subscriptions portal lists all newsletter subscriptions that the currently selected Contact is subscribed to. It lists the Subscription Name, who sent the Invite Request and the date of the invitation. Use the Subscribed checkbox to indicate if they accepted the request.
To send a quick invitation using the Email Subscription link click into the Selected Invite drop-down menu field to select any subscription.

Click the blue + button to send the email invitation to the current set of contacts. Note that you should first use the search function to restrict the number of contacts to send a bulk email to. Most standard email platforms will not allow you to do many bulk emails at once.

After clicking the Send Invite button, the Email Subscription Invitation window will display so you can verify that it is the correct email template. You may choose a different template at this point, using the Title drop-down selector.
When you click Send, the email will be recorded as a subscription invitation and the content of the email will be saved in Speaker Compass. Then the default email service on your computer will open with the email addressed to the contact or to multiple recipients.

You, of course, may do a final edit of the email before sending it to multiple recipients.
Once an email template has been written and linked to the name of a subscription, you can quickly send an email to any contact by selecting the subscription name and clicking on the Send Invitation button.
On the Contracts Screen there is a convenient Subscribed box so you can see at-a-glance which newsletters a Contact is subscribed to.
