How to track emails
Although Speaker Compass is an offline program, it has a powerful email system. You could say it has one and half email systems.
1: Speaker Compass Mail System:
Setting up the Compass mail system is as easy as setting up an email client on your own computer. Just fill in the blanks for email, server, and password, then you can send and receive emails right within Speaker Compass.
Send Emails: YES!
Click a button to send emails to one individual or many at once, using Compass Mail. You may save a record of all emails sent or only save only the important ones, recording the date, subject, content, email addresses, and the sending staff person.
Receive Emails: YES!
Compass Mail is built in to the program so you can receive and read emails directly in a Speaker Compass mail window.
To be clear, Compass Mail is using your chosen email service. When you open Compass Mail, you'll see the same email history from your computer system email client. It will just be viewed in an integrated environment that Speaker Compass has access to.
This picture shows how the Compass Mail window opens on top of the Speaker Compass main window. The mail program shows your entire email history: every email sent from anyone, just as you'd expect.

You may read and write your emails from within Compass Mail in text or HTML format. As shown below, clicking on any email in the list opens the mail viewer window. Just like any email program, you may delete, reply, forward, or save it in another email folder.

However, using the integrated Compass Mail helps maintain focus on one client at a time. Look at the Mail tab in the main Compass Groups Window. The only emails that appear in the tab are from that customer, organization, or group. There's no personal emails, or spam, or emails from anyone except that customer. And the unread emails are highlighted so you can see at a glance if there's any new communications with the customer or prospect!

Every Company/Group record only shows emails from that company!
0.5: Using Your Own Favorite Email Client:
Why do we say you have one and a half email programs in Speaker Compass?
Because you may use the email client installed on your computer to send out emails from Speaker Compass but not to receive them within the program (obviously).
If you select your computer's email program as the default sender, then when you send an email, Speaker Compass will open your computer's email.
Even though the email is sent using your system email program, the content, subject, and date are saved in the Communication Log in Speaker Compass.
Maybe you love your own email client (program) installed on your computer. Maybe you're comfortable with the interface and want always use it to send emails. You may use your own email client for sending emails from Speaker Compass.
Even though you're using your own email client to send out emails, Speaker Compass has some useful communication tools:

1) Choose from Many Saved Email Templates
Speaker Compass contains a time-saving Email Template window where you may create any number of standard emails to be saved with the program. For example, you could create an email which invites someone to subscribe to an email campaign ( and use the saved Email Campaign Links to quickly paste the correct URL into the email.)
2) Select from many Pre-Written topics for any task or industry
Compose, edit, and save each email for re-use. Save emails for a Thank-You, or Requests for referrals, or Standard Speaker Requests for any number of industries. Write a standard email once and then use it any number of times.
3) Send to one or Many with one click
Click the Send button and Speaker Compass will automatically address the email to one person or many and open your default Email Client on your computer with the email address, subject, and content pre-filled. A record of all emails sent will be recorded for each person sent an email.
Communication portals appear on most screens, so that you may always have a searchable history of all email communications sent to every CONTACT, GROUP, EVENT, or JOB.

Have you ever opened your email program to check for an email from one special customer and then suddenly become distracted by the hundreds of other emails calling for your attention?
You don't have to worry about that with Speaker Compass Mail. You only see what you need to see for each customer or prospect.

All the emails may be saved in the appropriate record. You'll always have a history of communication with a client. Know where you stand at all times: Are you just getting acquainted or have you already moved to the proposal phase? You'll always know and will be more efficient, as a result.
